Wicked Little Letters

In 1920s Littlehampton, a quiet English seaside town is thrown into chaos when prim churchgoing Edith Swan starts receiving crude, hilarious anonymous letters that scandalize her family and neighbors. Suspicion quickly falls on her foulmouthed Irish neighbor Rose Gooding, a single mother already judged for her loud nights out and refusal to behave. As the case explodes into a national uproar, one underappreciated female police officer teams up with local women to question the official story. The film blends sharp, sweary humor with a cozy small town mystery, poking fun at snobbery, sexism, and moral panic while keeping the focus on friendship, gossip, and the danger of jumping to conclusions.
