In rural Argentina, brothers Pedro and Jimmy hear gunshots near their farmhouse and uncover a mangled corpse and a bloated, demon-infected man hidden in a neighbor's shack. Ignoring strict rules meant to contain this kind of evil, they try to remove the threat themselves and accidentally unleash a spreading demonic infection that twists people into rotting hosts. As panic rises and livestock and families begin to suffer, the pair are forced onto a desperate, violent road, searching for anyone who understands the curse while an unrelenting, creeping dread closes in.
