In early 2000s Toronto, 13-year-old Mei Lee is a confident but tightly controlled only child who helps her parents at their family temple while trying to be the perfect student and daughter. Her life is already full, with best friends Miriam, Priya, and Abby, secret crushes, and an obsessive love for boy band 4Town. Everything changes when intense emotions suddenly cause her to transform into a giant red panda, turning everyday middle school stress into chaotic, furry disaster. The film balances goofy, colorful comedy with a sincere look at growing up, handling big feelings, and finding a way to stay close to family without losing your own voice.
