A period drama following Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker whose ordinary life stretches across the vast forests and small towns of the Pacific Northwest in the early 1900s. Surrounded by towering trees and steam trains, he helps build new rail lines while America shifts from frontier wilderness toward modern industry. The story moves with a gentle, reflective pace, watching him navigate hard labor, brief moments of love, and sudden loss. It has a quiet, melancholic tone, mixing rugged everyday detail with dreamlike images of nature, memory, and the ghosts of a world slowly disappearing.
