Tony

In the mid-1970s, 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain flees campus life and heads to Provincetown, hoping to impress his high school crush Nancy and reinvent himself. Broke and drifting, he talks his way into a job at a hectic seafood restaurant, where brutal rushes, sharp-tongued chefs and oddball coworkers throw him into the deep end of kitchen life. The film tracks one messy summer of burned plates, late-night drinking and clumsy romance as he learns what it means to work, to fail and to care about food. It is a fast, funny but bittersweet coming-of-age story that shows a cocky kid slowly confronting his ego and finding the first sparks of the chef and writer he will become.
