The Outrun

Rona is a young woman fresh out of rehab, leaving a reckless party life in London to return to her childhood home in the Orkney Islands. Surrounded by cliffs, wind and cold sea, she takes a job on a conservation project and tries to stay sober while facing old family wounds and memories she would rather forget. The film moves between noisy nights in the city and quiet days on the island, showing how addiction has shaken her relationships and sense of self. It has a slow, intimate tone, with flashes of dark humor and gentle hope, as nature and routine become part of her struggle to rebuild a life.
