Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma

A long-running 80s slasher series has gone stale, so Kris, a queer rising filmmaker, is brought in to reinvent Camp Miasma at the original lakeside camp. There she finds its former final girl Billy Presley still living among dusty props and fading fan memorabilia. As Kris pushes for a reboot that confronts the franchise’s lurid, transphobic past, the project slides from campy nostalgia into a strange mix of horror, romance, and hallucinatory psychodrama, blurring the line between movie violence, desire, and the real darkness surrounding the camp.
