A Rhode Island state trooper dreams of joining the elite K-9 search and rescue team but keeps getting turned down. Hoping to prove himself, he adopts Ruby, a clever yet unruly shelter dog running out of chances. Training her into a working partner pushes them both to confront their own restless energy and self-doubt. Their growing bond, playful chaos, and hard-won progress give the film a warm, hopeful tone with gentle humor, focusing on perseverance, trust, and the idea that unlikely underdogs can still do extraordinary things.
