In a small New England town, seasoned detective Tom Nichols is assigned to the case of a young real estate agent found murdered in an empty house. As he follows leads from her slick developer boyfriend to an embittered ex-husband and uneasy neighbors, routine police work turns into a tense, slow-burn thriller. The deeper he digs, the more the case exposes buried secrets, office politics, and cracks in his own marriage, leaving him unsure who to trust or even what justice looks like.
