In 2006, TV reporter Chris Hansen turns his hidden-camera show catching online child predators into a ratings phenomenon. As police stings blur into entertainment, his ambitious producer Andie Bender pushes for bigger, riskier confrontations on primetime. A young actor hired as a teen decoy, Dan Plum, is pulled into the tense suburban houses and hotel rooms where the traps are set, watching the line between justice and spectacle disappear. The film's tone is tense, nightmarish and darkly satirical, probing how fame, fear and television power can twist people's sense of right and wrong.
