A young woman, Bella Baxter, is brought back to life in a bizarre Victorian world by eccentric scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter. With the mind of a child in an adult body, she stumbles, swears, and questions everything around her. Eager to escape Baxter's control and discover the wider world, she takes off with slick lawyer Duncan Wedderburn on a chaotic trip across strange cities and sea voyages. The film mixes surreal science fiction, bold sexuality, and awkward humor into a wild coming-of-age story about curiosity, desire, and learning how to claim her own choices.
