In 1990s Kentucky, Sharon is a blunt, big-hearted hairdresser whose own life is spinning out of control. When she hears about Ed, a grieving widower drowning in medical bills for his little girl who needs a liver transplant, she barges into the family's world determined to help. Her wild ideas, stubborn faith, and talent for organizing strangers pull neighbors, churches, and businesses together in the middle of brutal winter weather. The film balances humor and tears, showing imperfect people stumbling toward grace, second chances, and everyday acts of courage.
