One Life

Based on the true story of British humanitarian Nicholas Winton, this drama follows a young London broker racing to arrange the rescue of Jewish children from Czechoslovakia as war looms. Decades later, an older Winton, played by Anthony Hopkins, struggles with guilt and memory as he reflects on the lives he helped save and the ones he could not. The film balances tense, practical efforts to secure trains, visas, and foster families with quiet moments of doubt, courage, and family support, creating a moving, understated portrait of ordinary people facing extraordinary moral choices.
