In late 1950s Paris, sharp-tongued critic Jean-Luc Godard finally steps behind the camera to make his risky debut, Breathless. Surrounded by fellow dreamers like François Truffaut, a skeptical producer, and rising stars Jean Seberg and Jean-Paul Belmondo, he fights tight schedules, tiny budgets, and his own stubborn vision. Shot in stylish black and white with playful cutting and rapid banter, the film follows a chaotic, funny, and sometimes tender shoot that captures the thrill of a small group of friends trying to reinvent movies on the fly.
