La Chimera

Fresh out of prison, Arthur, a rumpled British archaeologist, returns to a rundown house in rural Tuscany and reunites with a ragtag crew of thieves who raid Etruscan tombs for artifacts. His uncanny feel for what lies underground turns each job into a chance to search for a rumored doorway to the afterlife, where he hopes to reconnect with the woman he cannot stop mourning. The story drifts through fields, village parties, and shady deals with a mix of scruffy heist antics, offbeat romance, and quiet grief. The tone is earthy and playful yet tinged with melancholy and mysticism, following a man caught between the small-town life around him and a dream of something beyond it.
