Justin Kemp is a Georgia magazine writer, four years sober, trying to support his pregnant wife Ally after past loss when he is picked for jury duty in a highly publicized murder case. The trial centers on a young woman found dead after a stormy night, her boyfriend accused of following her after a fight in a roadside bar. As prosecutors and defense lawyers pull the story apart, Justin begins to sense the case may collide with his own troubled past. The film plays as a quiet, tense courtroom and deliberation drama about guilt, responsibility, and how far someone will go to do the right thing when every choice feels wrong.
