In New Orleans, mild-mannered professor Gary Johnson spends his days teaching and his nights working with the police, posing as a fake hit man to catch people looking to hire a killer. Each sting turns into a performance as he slips into bold new identities, from slick charmer to tough thug, blurring the line between his quiet real life and his dangerous undercover world. When a frightened woman seeks his help, attraction and lies start to mix, pulling him deeper into a risky romance. The story balances sharp humor, steamy chemistry, and tense crime twists, keeping things light, clever, and a little bit sexy.
