In a rainstorm in small-town Colorado, Sister Barnes and Sister Paxton, two young Mormon missionaries, answer a request for information from the soft-spoken Mr. Reed. Inside his secluded home, polite conversation about belief soon turns into unsettling mind games as the women realize the house is a twisting maze built to keep them inside. The story stays mostly within this strange, shifting space, focusing on dialogue, psychological tension, and the ways doubt and conviction can be pushed to the breaking point. The tone is claustrophobic and eerie rather than gory, driven by sharp exchanges and a villain who uses theology like a weapon.
