Evelyn Wang runs a small, struggling laundromat while juggling an IRS audit, a distant husband, a critical father, and tension with her daughter Joy. Her ordinary day explodes into chaos when she is pulled into a vast multiverse and told she might be the version of herself who can stop a mysterious threat. As she jumps between bizarre alternate realities and taps into skills from lives she never lived, the story mixes kinetic fight scenes, absurd visual gags, and quiet emotional beats. The tone swings from loud, surreal comedy to tender family drama, always centered on Evelyn’s search for meaning in the mess of everyday life.
