In a city where fire, water, earth and air people share crowded streets and strict rules, Ember helps run her parents' small shop in the fire neighborhood while hiding a temper and big dreams. When a leak brings Wade, a sensitive water inspector who literally goes with the flow, their clash turns into an unlikely friendship that challenges the way their world separates different elements. The story mixes bright, inventive visual gags with gentle romance and family pressures, exploring immigrant roots, tradition and self-discovery in a playful, emotional way.
