Marcus, a temperamental minor league basketball coach, loses his job after an outburst and a drunk driving arrest. As part of his community service, he is assigned to coach a local team of players with intellectual disabilities. At first he doubts their abilities and treats the job as a punishment, but their humor, honesty, and determination slowly challenge his ego and worn out ideas about success. The story mixes broad comedy with heartfelt moments as practices, small town games, and awkward dates push him to grow alongside his new team.
