On the misty Texas-Louisiana border, an eight-year-old girl vanishes near the swampy lake, shaking a fractured family already haunted by past tragedies. As Ellie and others search the tangled bayou, drought-low waters expose unsettling traces of earlier deaths and disappearances. Strange patterns across different times begin to emerge, hinting at a hidden anomaly beneath the surface. The story blends slow-burn mystery, Southern gothic atmosphere, and mind-bending sci-fi, focusing on grief, guilt, and the desperate hope of finding a lost child.
