Maren, a quiet teenager with a terrifying urge to eat human flesh, has spent her life hiding on the margins of 1980s America with her father. When he suddenly leaves, she sets out alone to track down the mother she barely remembers. Along the back roads she meets Lee, a restless drifter who shares her secret hunger, and together they wander across small towns and empty fields, trying to understand who they are. Their journey mixes young love with horror and loneliness, turning a bloody survival story into a sad, strangely tender road romance.
