Aftersun

Set in the late 1990s, the film follows 11-year-old Sophie on a package holiday to a slightly worn Turkish resort with her charming but restless young father Calum. Through poolside games, arcade visits and hotel buffets, their easy, playful bond slowly shows small cracks, quiet worries and things left unsaid. Years later, Sophie revisits their MiniDV footage, trying to understand who her father was beyond the loving dad she remembers. The mood is gentle and sunlit yet quietly aching, turning ordinary vacation moments into fragile memories of growing up and glimpses of an adult world she only half understood.
