About Dry Grasses

Set in a remote, snowbound village in eastern Anatolia, the film follows Samet, a young art teacher stuck in his fourth year of compulsory service and dreaming of a transfer to Istanbul. His tense relationships with students and colleagues deepen when he and his friend Kenan face troubling accusations at school, shaking his already fragile sense of control. A growing connection with Nuray, a passionate fellow teacher, pulls him into long talks about politics, desire, and responsibility. The mood is intimate, talkative, and quietly unsettling, watching one man’s selfish choices, boredom, and despair ripple through a small community.
